Measuring and Sizing

At Lizzie G. Formals, everyone is measured in-store by an associate prior to trying on any of our dresses.

If you are unable to visit us in-store, here is how to obtain your own measurements:

It is recommended that a second person takes your measurements, but it can be done yourself.

For the most accurate measurements: stand up straight, but relaxed, do not hold your breath or try to suck your stomach in.

To measure yourself, place a tape measure around your body and hold each of the ends in your hands

BUST:  the band should sit just below your shoulder blades, go under your arms, and extend across the fullest part of your bust.

Pull the tape until it is snug, but not too tight.

WAIST:  the band should settle into the smallest part of your natural waist, and sit somewhere between your ribs and belly button.

Pull the tape until it is snug, but not too tight. (You want to be able to breathe)

HIPS:  the band should go around the fullest part of your behind, and go over the widest part of your hips.

Pull the tape until it is snug, but not too tight. To check that the tape isn't too tight; try sitting down and standing up again with the tape measure still around you.

We strive to carry flattering styles for all body types.

We are always happy to help you select styles that best flatter your figure.
